Alaska- Turnagain Arm

About 40 minutes outside of Anchorage is Turnagain Arm. The highway runs along side it and it is beautiful. As we were driving back to Anchorage we happened to see the tide coming back in. There were some crazy people surfing the tide. We got out and watched them for a while.

Alaska- Wildlife Zoo

Just a little outside of Anchorage is a Wildlife Zoo. There are all sort of Wildlife there like moose, brown bear, caribou, elk, muskox, eagles.... All of the animals here where injured and could not be put back out in the wild, so they made a huge park for them.

Madi loved this wooden carved bear. It was just her size and she kept on kissing it.

Weston's favorite animal was definitely the moose. He loved them!

Now that is some weird looking antlers!

At the beginning of July, we went to Alaska! It was SO much fun and we loved every moment of it. I have so many pictures that it will take me a couple posts to get through them. The first one I will start out with is our visit to the Anchorage Temple.

We are redoing the grass in our backyard. So there is A LOT of mud. One day Weston and Madi were playing on our back porch and I heard Madi start to cry. I went out there and Weston was picking up mud then rubbing it all over Madi's face. As soon as she saw me she started laughing. She was so proud of herself because she was SO dirty!

Madison turned one year old on May 10th. It was so nice because Bridget and her family happened to be in town so we had a little birthday party and went out to eat at the Big Texan (pictures will come later).

Madi's Great Granddad gave her that little baby and she just adores it! She still sleeps with it every night!

As many of you know, Nich loves his chainsaws! He loves everything about them- how they are made, they way they run, he likes to hot-rod them and most of all he likes to use them. For Christmas we got Weston a little Stihl chainsaw (just like dad's). Weston would try to cut everything in the house- our table, Nich's guitar, the TV... So, we decided to take him to go cut some firewood.

Weston watched Nich for the longest time.

Nich finally showed Weston how to do it.

I don't know who was happier cutting firewood-Weston or his dad...

Twice the TROUBLE!

Since Madison has been mobile, I have had twice the trouble, twice the clean up, twice the loudness and 10 times the CUTENESS. Weston and Madison are best friends and do everything together. One day I noticed that the house was really quiet. I went into the kitchen and they were getting out all of my Scentsy Candle scents. It was really neat to watch because Madi would get one out at a time and hand it to Weston. Weston would then begin to stack and line them up. They did this all without making any sounds. It was amazing how quiet the two of them could be!

Afternoon Nap

As many of ya'll know, teaching your children to sit through church can be exhausting. After you get home and eat lunch, you can't help but fall asleep. Weston and Nich were so tired they were asleep within 5 minutes of sitting on the couch!

Four Wheeling

One Saturday back in February, we decided to go four-wheeling at the Canadian River. It was Weston and Madi's first time to ever go four-wheeling and they loved it! Weston would laugh every time we hit a bump or went up a steep hill. I just wish we had more time to go do fun stuff like this as a family.

So our lives have been pretty crazy for the last couple months- between moving to a new house in Amarillo and spending an entire month going to Alaska, Arizona and Seattle. This is why I have not been able to update our blog for a while! So I guess I will try to start off where I ended, and go from there!

Amarillo Zoo

For Weston's birthday we went to the Amarillo Zoo. I should be ashamed of myself for never going there before because it is a really neat little zoo. Weston absolutely loved it!

Weston had a great view of all of the animals on his dad's shoulders.

There was this bear that was staring down Weston the entire time. I think that the bear wanted to eat him. Good thing there is glass between them!

You can't have a zoo in Amarillo without including the Longhorn!

Weston's 2nd Birthday

Weston just turned 2 years old. He had such a great birthday! Grandma Kenny and Del came to visit Weston.

We put balloons all over the room. Weston loved the balloons so much that it took him a while to notice the presents.

9 Months Old

Yesterday was Madison's 9 month checkup. She is 18.8 pounds and 27.7 inches long. My little girl is getting so big! She is such a sweet little girl and I am so happy that she is in our life! She brings such joy to everyone she meets. We love her so much!

Play Time

Back in December we had a little incident with Madison. She was sitting on the counter in her little Bumbo seat. She was kicking and having a great time. I was in the kitchen with her, but not really paying attention to her. I thought that she was not going anywhere! Anyways, she wiggled right off the counter. Bumbo seat and all. She developed this huge bump on the side of her head. It was not just any bump, it was nasty and soft. I called the Doctor's office and they told me to take to the emergency room so that they could to a cat scan on her head. I called my neighbor, Becky and she watched Weston as we went to the ER. Luckily, Madison's head was not fractured and the doctor said that it would take a few weeks for the bump to go down.
A couple days later my neighbor gave me a whole bunch of pictures of Weston playing in the leaves when he was at her house. So, while Madison in the emergency room, Weston was having a blast playing and running around in the leaves. Here are the pictures...

Last month we got a couple inches of snow. Weston was so excited to play in it. He did not know what it was at first. When he finally got into it he had a blast. He ate it, rolled around in it and played in it. He loved every moment of it, until he got cold.

Picking Pumpkins

I am way behind on posts. I just decided to start out where I left off and hopefully I can get caught up. In October we went to a pumpkin patch and picked out pumpkins. Weston did not know what do to with himself because he wanted them all. We had a lot of fun.

Until he started hugging her, then she wanted out of there!

He would find one pumpkin that he liked, put it in the wagon and then find a better one. By the time we were done we had about 10 pumpkins in the wagon.

Trunk-R-Treat

Saturday night we went to the church for the Trunk-R-Treat. Weston was a skeleton and LOVED his costume. Madison was a little fairy. Weston loved eating all of the candy and was wired the entire night.

After Weston was done getting all of his candy, he hung out with Nich in the back of the truck.

Tri-State Fair

Last week we went to the Tri-State Fair. Weston loved seeing all of the different animals. We even watched some Pig Races! His favorite part was feeding the animals at the Petting Zoo. He loved feeding the baby Camel.

39 weeks 5 days

Right before I went to the hospital we took this picture to show how big I was.

Madison May Kenny was born 8 hours later on May 10, 2010 at 5:10am. She was 7 pounds 7 ounces and was 19 1/4 inches long.

A couple days ago I couldn't hear Weston in the house. That is a sign to go look for that kid! I went searching for him and found him like this... he was just sitting in his toy box playing with his toys. Now it is his new favorite thing to do. He throws all of his toys out and gets in himself. Such a funny boy!

Ultrasound Pictures- 36 weeks

We had a ultrasound today to make sure that everything still looked normal on our baby and to get her weight. She looks perfect and weighs approximately 6 pounds. Our last ultrasound she was being really shy, and we were not 100% sure that she was a girl. Now, we definitely know for sure! She is a girl! We can actually go buy her some stuff now. She looks like Weston did, so cute!

Our neighbors were decorating eggs on Saturday and invited Weston over to help them out. Weston loved throwing the eggs into the die and them getting them out with his hands. Everyday Weston knows exactly when Nich is supposed to be home. He likes to go outside and wait for him. Yesterday he wanted to get in the truck as he waited. He thought that he was so big and cool.

Weston loves trucks, Gus and being outside. He thought it was the best day of his life.

Weston's 1st Birthday!

Weston's 1st birthday was on Sunday. We all had a really good time and Weston loved eating his cake, opening his presents and playing with Nich the entire day! He really made a mess out of his cake!

He had a tractor cake . He loved the chocolate frosting, but he did not know what to think about the green frosting. He was scared to touch it!

We really wanted to go to the park, but it was really really cold outside so we had to come up with something else. We went to this place called Jump & Jive which has a whole bunch of blow up jumpy things. Weston was too small for most of the stuff, but they had a few things that he liked! We found one jump thing that had no kids in it. Weston loved crawling around in it. He thought that he was so big!

He got this hat for his birthday to keep his ears warm since it has been so cold. He is showing it off!

At the Jump & Jive, they had a couple of trucks. Weston loved to sit in them and pretend to drive them!

San Diego Temple

While we were in San Diego, we had the opportunity to see the San Diego Temple. It was so amazing and beautiful! While we were there, we saw some temple workers cleaning the windows. I was amazed on how they cleaned them... One of them was on the outside with a light shining through, while there were two others cleaning every spot on the inside. The worker on the outside said that they had been working on that particular window for 2 hours. It just amazed me how clean the Lord's Temple is.

On our Christmas vacation, Nich's family took us to San Diego. I have never been to the ocean, so it was a real treat for me. We had a lot fun!!
Weston did not know what the sand was. It was pretty funny because he would not put his feet down on the wet sand.

This Christmas, we were able to go to Queen Creek and Yuma to visit our families. We had a lot of fun. Weston loved visiting everyone!!

On Saturday, Nich and I were working on some things in Nich's shop. We had Weston in his play pen, and Gus was out running around the trucks. Everytime Gus would run around the playpen, Weston would try to follow him. I made Gus sit by the playpen, so Weston could pet him. Before I knew it, Gus had jumped into the pen with Weston. Gus just sat there like that is where he belonged. It was really funny! Weston loved it though!

Weston was really quiet a few days ago. So I asked Nich if he knew where Weston was. We went searching through the house, and we found him underneath the Christmas tree opening his presents! Nich took the pictures through the crack of the door so Weston would not see him. He was so sad that he got caught!!

We had the Demuths visit us when they were on their way back to Kansas. Kade was riding Weston's tractor around the house. Weston did not like that! He went chasing Kade until he stopped, and Weston hugged the tractor so he couldn't drive it anywhere else! He loves that tractor! He is definitely Nich's kid!!

Christmas Time!

The day after Thanksgiving, our family went to pick out our Christmas tree. We could not cut it down this year since there are no pine trees here in Texas. :( Nich was sad that he could not use his chainsaw! But, we did get a really pretty tree!

Decorating the tree was definitely a challenge this year with Weston getting into all of the decorations!! He loved helping out though!

When we were in Queen Creek, Nich noticed this dead mesquite tree at the church. Not wanting it to be a hazard to the community and really wanting to use his chainsaws, he volunteered to cut it down. So all day we cut down and removed the tree. I probably pulled out hundreds of thorns out from my boots!

Independence Day!

On Independence Day we went to a Tea Party Protest. I was a little hesitant to go at first, but it turned out to be a really good experience. The program was really patriotic.

I went to Arizona for a few weeks and had a blast with all of our family. One day there was a fundraiser for a family in may parents ward. Brittany and my Mom both cut their hair for the fundraiser. Cadillac Ranch!

Weston had his first Easter egg hunt. I hid the eggs, and both Nich and Weston went looking for them! We all had a lot of fun!

We do not have very many good place to hide eggs, so we had to get creative!

Hospital Visit

This was a pretty tough week for our family. On Wednesday Nich and I took Weston to the doctor because he had a snotty nose and was coughing. We did not realize that we would end up in the hospital til Friday. Weston had RSV and the doctor wanted to make sure he pulled out of it alright, so she sent us to the hospital. He is doing a lot better now!

Even though Weston was getting messed with and poked constantly, he was still in good spirits and smiled a lot. I think that he was the nurses favorite patient!

Here is Nich playing with Weston. Weston loves to stand up! He thinks that he is so BIG! He is also trying to talk now and makes a whole bunch of sounds.

We are definitely happy that Weston is feeling better and to be out of the hospital!

Our Trip to San Antonio

We were in Hondo, Tx and we saw these weird looking deer on the side of a dirt road. I have no idea what kind of deer they were, but they were really small with big antlers! They were really neat looking. If anyone knows what kind they are let me know!

This is an old church in San Antonio it was really neat looking. There were also these fountains that would trick you and would come out of the ground without any warning. You really had to watch out!

"The River Walk"
This was really neat because there are a lot of restaurants right smack on the river. You can go and walk all along the river and see all of the old buildings. It reminded of something that you would see in Italy, even though I have not been there.

The Alamo

Nich, Weston and I went to San Antonio and saw The Alamo for the 1st time. Unfortunately it was raining the whole time while we were there, but it was still a lot of fun! It is amazing all of the history that happened there. I definitely recommend going!

After I had Weston, Nich's mom and his sister Elain came to meet Weston and to help out around the house.

While they were here we walked around Route 66. Weston loved being carried around by Elain!

Last week Weston and I went to Arizona to visit our family. While we where there Weston rode his 1st horse!

Weston Eugene Kenny finally arrived on February 7, 2009 at 9:20pm. He was 7 pounds 1/2 ounce and 19 1/2 inches long.

Nich is such a proud and happy dad! Weston looks for him every time he hears Nich's voice.My mom, Brittany and Bridget drove all the way to Texas to help me out! I had such a fun time with them! I was really sad to see them leave.
